Weekly Review (2025; 41)

Think. Refrain. Steadfast. Fair

2 ears. 1 mouth, for concise brevity.

Goodness over greatness.

Attainment over obtainment

A successful life is a curious life, to paraphrase Bruce Diller.

Fear: a momentary emotion of beasts
Anxiety: beastly fear of the future

Look at everything you have and all that you don’t need. What then is there to complain about?

It isn’t just what we do; goodness is often in what we don’t do.

Don’t be afraid of your anger. Confront it. It is a lie you tell yourself.

It is enough if your opinion is based on understanding, your action on unselfishness, and your attitude on acceptance.
Marcus Aurelius

On storytelling:

  • The most epic story: the big bang, yet it’s still a mystery.
  • I don’t know what chapter my story is in right now. Are chapters just imaginary divisions we use to better tell stories? Of course they are.
  • Barrett was a great storyteller. Ideomotion was his greatest story of all.
  • I’ll tell my story to nearly anyone, but only if I think they genuinely care.
  • If I could tell my younger self a bedtime story, I think I would tell the story of the 3 legged pig (hat-tip: Norm McDonald) #conflagration
  • the best stories are true, are they not?
